📖 About the Book:
Trust doesn’t come easily to Thea, who has been running from her past for years. Moving in with the charming and handsome contractor Shepard Colson seems like a bad idea, but Shep's determination to protect her and rebuild her life slowly breaks down her walls. As Shep works his way into her heart, Thea's past catches up with her, threatening to tear apart the fragile sanctuary she has found.
🤔 Review:
I am a sucker for a girl on the run/in hiding, and "Delicate Escape" delivered beautifully. I felt so deeply for Thea and the terror she went through. Her search for a sense of freedom and control in her life was inspiring, and I loved how Shep gave her the space she needed to feel like herself again. Thea found her voice and her fearlessness in expressing it added to her strong character.
The family dynamics were heartwarming, and I was genuinely surprised by the twist in the mystery. I had no idea it was going to be who it was, and I love that element of surprise. Thea and Shep are great together, and their relationship was a joy to watch them come together. That is not a sex joke...or is it? HA!
Cowles has a knack for creating compelling characters and intricate plots that draw you in from the first page. If you're looking for a story with strong character development, romance, and a gripping mystery, this book is a must-read.
