📖 About the Book:
Corvina Clemm is drawn to the mysterious and eerie Verenmore, a gothic school perched on a mountain. As she navigates the dark corridors and hidden secrets of the school, she grapples with her mental health and forms a complicated relationship with Vad Deverell, a professor with his own secrets.
🤔 Review:
I liked the eerie, gothic setting of the school on the mountain with the mystery element. Corvina's struggle with her mental health were well done and added depth to her character. However, I wasn't enthralled with Vad and Corvina's relationship. There were some sweet moments, but for the most part, I wasn't as invested as I expected to be. While Vad's support for Corvina through her mental struggles was commendable, their relationship didn't leave a lasting impression on me.
The mystery element was intriguing, but I felt it wasn't a main feature of the story. At times, it felt like I was jumping around without a clear direction. Despite these points, the book delivered on the gothic vibes, making it a decent read for fans of the genre.
If you're looking for a story with a strong gothic atmosphere and a focus on mental health, this book will fulfill those needs.
