Meet McKayla, the vibrant personality behind @mckaylabookdragon! Originally from Colorado, McKayla now resides in Utah, where she works in Food Safety in the candy industry (who doesn't love candy?!). She met the love of her life in Utah, and they've been together for two years. Their nearly love-at-first-sight connection was sparked by a conversation about Twilight! Together, they share their home with a cat and dog, and are eagerly anticipating motorcycle season.
McKayla's passion for reading has been a lifelong journey. As a child, she was an avid reader, but adulthood brought challenges that made it difficult to finish even one book a year. Everything changed in 2020 when she discovered Rhysand cosplays on TikTok. Inspired, she picked up A Court of Thorns and Roses from her local Barnes & Noble and devoured the first three books in about a week. Since then, reading has brought immense happiness into her life.
For McKayla, books are the answer to everything. Reading is truly a big part of her life, and she jokes that her blood must be made of ink. Her absolute favorite genre is romantasy, where epic tales set in far-off worlds with a touch of romance and spice captivate her imagination.

Loves reading books that make her feel all the emotions. Unlikeable characters, unreliable narration, emotional upsets— she want it all!
She is SUPER introverted, that is until she gets comfortable and you can't shut her up. HA!
Books are not a phase! She has fallen down many rabbits holes; makeup, cosplay, collecting Pop Figure; you name it! But book collecting has stayed very consistent for many years now.
ACOTAR was her first adult read at the ripe age of 25. She strictly read YA up until then and still loves YA and it is often her comfort reads.
Part of her handle name, Book Dragon, came from @rachelskyereads beacuse, unlike Book Worms who gobble up books like tomorrow, she hoards and collect books way faster than she reads.
