A Second Chance at Love—and at Reading

My goal with my bookstagram page is to not only find a sense of community with other readers who share the same passions as me but to connect more readers with authors, especially indie authors.”

This month, I’m thrilled to spotlight Alexandra — a passionate reader, devoted mom, and the heart behind @fictionfeedsalex.

At 32, Alexandra is a stay-at-home mom to two energetic boys and four lovable fur babies. Originally from Long Island, NY, her journey has taken her through North Carolina and now to her forever home in South Carolina, where she lives with her husband and their beautiful family. Her love story is one for the books — a real-life second chance romance that blossomed into marriage, homeownership, and motherhood all in the whirlwind of 2020.

Alexandra’s love for reading began in her teenage years with fantasy favorites like Twilight, The Mortal Instruments, and The Hunger Games, along with swoon-worthy romance like Anna Todd’s After series. But it wasn’t until the fall of 2023, when a friend introduced her to A Court of Thorns and Roses, that her reading spark reignited — and it’s been burning bright ever since.

As a mom, Alexandra knows how easy it is to lose yourself in the beautiful chaos of motherhood. Reading became her way of reconnecting with herself — a space where she could be more than “just mom” and rediscover her identity through magical worlds and unforgettable characters. Since then, she’s traded TV time for page time, reading an incredible 226 books in 2024 and already 90 books into 2025!

Her bookstagram, is more than just a reading journal — it’s a vibrant community hub. Alexandra is passionate about connecting readers with authors, especially indie voices, and loves working with small bookish businesses, publishers, and PR companies. Her goal? To help every reader find their next five-star read with honest reviews and heartfelt recommendations.

Alexandra’s Top Recs:

“Although romantasy will always have my heart, I love so many other sub genres. Small town, cowboy, mafia, sports romance. I prefer my romance with suspense to make more high stakes.”

Alexandra’s Fun Facts:

  • Alexandra loves books where characters have to fight for their happily ever after.

  • Always drawn to emotionally charged stories and morally grey characters who challenge the boundaries of right and wrong.

  • Favorite characters include:

    • MMCs: Darius Acrux (dark, dangerous, and dragon-approved) and Darien Cassel (broody and unforgettable)

    • FMCs: Tory Vega (chaotic queen), Nesta Archeron (the ultimate redemption arc), and Aelin (fireheart forever)

  • Her go-to authors are the Twisted Sisters — Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti — and Catherine Cowles.

  • While enemies to lovers will always be a top trope, Alexandra also adores second chance romance and forbidden romance.

  • A mystery lover at heart, Alexandra grew up watching Scooby-Doo and later became obsessed with Nancy Drew, Sherlock Holmes, and Agatha Christie. She’s always up for a good thriller or murder mystery — especially if it comes highly recommended.

Whether you're a fellow romantasy lover, a busy parent looking for a reading escape, or just someone who loves getting lost in a good story, Alexandra’s page is a must-follow.
